Position Title: Senior Cost Accountant/ Analyst - 4 – SCAA252025

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing, Selling and Distrbution and Administration Expenses costing analysis and inventory for all business locations. Responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining variances by customer, job order and process costs. The cost accountant must also work closely with production and technic personnel to resolve variances and adjust Bills of Materials (BOM’s).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain cost accounting system that ensures accurate costing
Consolidate and interpret financial data from various profit and cost centers to ensure that accurate and timely business information is presented to managers to assist them in decision making.
Monitor expenditure against budgets and advise managers of any significant variances.
Analyze complex manufacturing processes in coordination with Plant managers to improve decision making.
Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
Recommend improvements financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
Analyze and interpret data using statistical, financial, economic and other appropriate techniques and advise managers on the appropriate actions and policies to be pursued in the light of these findings
Review and analyze standard and actual costs for variances and prepare reports
Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials (BOM’s)
Prepare, analyze and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer, job order, and process jobs
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs
Prepare periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, analyzing inventory for risk, and monitoring with support from internal stakeholdersPerform related assignments given by immediate supervisor as required
Competency Requirements
Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases is a plus
Significant hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system
Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting
Job Requirement:
Qualification Requirements
Education: 2nd or 1stDegree in Accounting and Finance
Experience: 6 or 4 years relevant Experience
