Job Description
Job Purpose:-The Equipment & Plant Administration Head in a construction company oversees the management, maintenance, and operation of all construction equipment and plant machinery. This role ensures that all equipment is available, functional, and compliant with safety standards, contributing to the smooth execution of construction projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Management:
Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of construction equipment and plant machinery.
Maintain an asset register of all equipment and ensure it is updated regularly.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
Coordinate and supervise repair activities to minimize downtime.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all equipment and plant operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
Budget and Cost Control:
Manage the budget for equipment and plant operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and train staff involved in equipment and plant operations.
Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained and certified to operate machinery.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Prepare and present reports on equipment status and performance.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or Related field.
Experience
8 years of experience in equipment management, preferably in the construction industry
Professional certifications in Equipment Management are preferred.
Skills
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of construction equipment and industry standards.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
