Job Description

Position Title: Event Representative
Department: Sales & Marketing / Events
Reports To: Events Manager / Director of Sales & Marketing
Location: Boston Partners PLC – Addis Ababa 

Position Summary

The Event Representative serves as the main liaison between clients and the resort for all event-related activities, including weddings, meetings, and special functions. This role ensures seamless planning, coordination, and execution of events while maintaining Kuriftu Resort’s standards of service excellence. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to deliver memorable guest experiences and achieve business objectives

Duties & Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Meet with clients to understand event requirements, budgets, and preferences.

  • Prepare detailed event proposals, quotations, and agreements in line with resort policies.

  • Coordinate with internal departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Banquet, Engineering, Front Office, etc.) to ensure event success.

  • Develop event timelines, floor plans, and setups according to client specifications.

  • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event evaluations.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, wedding, and social clients.

  • Provide timely communication and professional support throughout the event process.

  • Handle client feedback promptly and ensure satisfaction before, during, and after events.

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Promote Kuriftu Resort as a premier venue for weddings, meetings, and special events.

  • Assist in site inspections and familiarization (FAM) tours for potential clients.

  • Support marketing initiatives, exhibitions, and promotional events related to the resort’s event services.

  • Achieve individual and departmental event sales targets.

Administrative & Financial Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of all event inquiries, contracts, and billing information.

  • Coordinate deposit collections and payment follow-ups with the Finance Department.

  • Prepare reports on event performance, revenue, and client satisfaction.

  • Ensure all events comply with the resort’s policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.            

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in event planning or banquet sales, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

  • Customer-oriented with a passion for service excellence.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Professional appearance and demeanour.

  • Commitment to upholding Kuriftu’s brand values and hospitality standards

Performance Indicators

  • Client satisfaction ratings and feedback.

  • Achievement of event sales and revenue targets.

  • Quality and consistency of event execution.

  • Compliance with resort SOPs and standards.
