Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that Departmental Operations Manuals are prepared and updated annually.

  • To ensure accurate maintenance of recipes, conversion recipes, yield tables and product specifications.

  • To attend weekly Food & Beverage Meeting.

  • To ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and result oriented.

  • To plan work assignments based on occupancy forecast, Banquet orders and work sheets and adjusts schedules to meet emergencies. 

  • To ensure that deadlines on all projects are me

  • To ensure that all guest contact pastry and bakery employees deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.

  • To ensure that pastry and bakery employees also provide excellent service to internal customers as appropriate.

  • To spend time in culinary areas observing employee-guest/employee-internal customer interaction, working through Heads of Department to coach employees as necessary.

  • To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.

  • To maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

  • To ensure that the Bakery and Pastry team projects a warm, professional and welcoming image, especially in open kitchen concepts.

Job Requirements

Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa is looking for an experienced Baker Chef to join our passionate culinary team.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Collage Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Graduate in Culinary related fields

  • COC Certificate is Mandatory 

  • Advance food hygiene qualification

  • Proven experience in 5-star hotel bakery and pastry operations.

  • Expertise in artisan breads, viennoiseries, and high-quality breakfast offerings.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail.
