Grade Level Expert

Reports to Manager, Procurement

The buyer is responsible for procurement of different materials and equipment’s required for all production, maintenance and logistics functions for all business units of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Plans and executes the procurement functions as per the departments plan 

• Collects purchase order and purchase requisitions

• Delivers purchased items and orders as required

• Conducts market assessment/study

• Gets a release letter from concerned body and prepare for inspect imported goods

• Submits shipping documents and others to transistor

• Follow up status of transistor on clearing goods in all stages (inspection, phase office, duty, assessment, finance, investment, check, warehouse charge)

• Receive all imported goods from customs and Facilitate logistics to deliver goods to user department

• Clear imports at National Bank of Ethiopia on time before getting on delinquency list

• Sourcing at least 3 supplier/quotations per material

• Ensure that all PR/PO are done through computer software

• Avoid as much as possible single sourcing and incase it is mandatory a special approval is needed.

• Performs other similar tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Academic requirement: 

• MA/MSC/BA/BSC in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics/ 

• Procurement / Management or related fields of study

Work experience:

• 2/4yrs of relevant experience in beverage industries

Additional Competencies: 

• Systems thinking

• Knowledge of the local and international procurement practices 

• Negotiation skills

• Customer handling skills 

• Planning, monitoring and evaluation

• Emotional maturity

• Computer literate in especially business applications
