We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician on a part time basis. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a broad skill set in general maintenance. He will be responsible for ensuring our properties and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance through routine maintenance, timely repairs, and quick response to emergencies.

Job type: part-time: Emergency response and regular visit of 1 day a week

Terms of employment: Contract for 6 months with possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance: Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks throughout the property, including painting, drywall patching, minor carpentry, and general maintenances like Repair and adjust doors, door locks, hinges, and closers, repair and maintain windows, including replacing glass, locks. 

• Electrical:  Electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, light switches, fixtures, ballasts, and circuit breakers. 

• Plumbing: Diagnose and repair leaks, unclog drains and toilets, repair or replace faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, and other basic plumbing fixtures and drainage, toilet sinks. 

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.

• Emergency Response: Be available for on-call rotation to address after-hours maintenance emergencies (e.g., floods, power outages, lockouts).

Job Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Maintenance Technician, Handyman, or in a similar role.

• Strong working knowledge of multiple areas (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).

• Ability to diagnose problems, identify the best solution, and perform repairs efficiently.

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Physical ability to perform tasks that include lifting heavy objects (50+), climbing ladders, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal technical or vocational training in a maintenance-related field.

• Must own a comprehensive set of hand and power tools required for general repairs
