The Director of Finance & Controlling will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee financial planning and reporting, and ensure the company’s long-term financial health. You will play a key role in digitalizing our financial operations, strengthening compliance, and improving efficiency and transparency. This position requires a balance of hands-on financial management and strategic business controlling to support the leadership team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.

• Act as a financial advisor to the CEO and executive team.

Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

• Provide data-driven insights to guide sound business decisions.

Controlling & Performance Monitoring

• Establish financial controls to track performance against budgets and KPIs.

• Identify risks and opportunities for cost optimization and growth.

Digital Financial Systems

• Drive the transition to fully digital accounting and bookkeeping.

• Implement real-time financial tracking, reporting, and automation tools.

Financial Operations Oversight

• Manage accounting, cash flow, audits, and tax obligations.

• Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.

Compliance & External Relations

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external partners.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the finance team to build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

• Promote adoption of digital finance tools and agile practices.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced certifications (MBA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA) are highly desirable.

• Experience: 8+ years of senior financial leadership experience, ideally in a startup, digital, or high-growth company. Experience in e-commerce or technology-driven businesses is a strong plus

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and controlling practices.

  • Proficiency with digital accounting platforms and tools.

  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
