Nurse, Pediatric
Designation: Pediatric Nurse
Reports to: Head Nursing Services / Head of Pediatric Department

The Pediatric Nurse will specialize in providing compassionate and age-appropriate nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents. This role involves managing childhood illnesses, administering medications, supporting families, and promoting child health and development within a pediatric ward or clinic.
Clinical Duties:
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, adapting care to the specific developmental stage and needs of each child.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, understanding pediatric dosages and routes.
Monitor vital signs, recognize changes in condition, and report appropriately.
Perform pediatric assessments, including growth monitoring and developmental screening.
Support and educate parents/guardians on their child's condition, treatment, and home care.
Prepare children for medical procedures and provide emotional support during stressful times.
Maintain a safe and child-friendly environment.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient charts, including observations, interventions, and outcomes.
Collaborate effectively with pediatricians, child life specialists, and other healthcare team members.
Adhere to pediatric nursing protocols and infection control measures.
Educational Duties:
Educate parents/guardians on child health, nutrition, immunization, and disease prevention.
Provide age-appropriate health education to children.
Continuously update knowledge on pediatric nursing best practices and childhood diseases prevalent in Ethiopia.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Nursing.
Valid professional nursing license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in pediatric nursing.
Passion for working with children and their families.
Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
