Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales and achieve targets for assigned modern trade accounts 

  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales growth within the modern trade channel

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and buyers in modern trade outlets

  • Manage and build long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for modern trade accounts, handling inquiries, issues, and requests promptly and professionally.

  • Negotiate promotional deals, discounts, and contracts with retail partners to enhance product visibility and sales.

  • Ensure optimal product placement on store shelves, displays, and in promotional spaces to maximize visibility and sales.

  • Work closely with store managers and merchandising teams to ensure products are stocked properly, prominently displayed, and in good condition.

  • Monitor stock levels, arrange reorders, and ensure product availability to prevent stockouts.

  • Coordinate and execute marketing and promotional campaigns in modern trade stores.

  • Work with the marketing team to implement in-store promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Track the effectiveness of promotional activities and suggest improvements or adjustments as necessary.

  •  Prepare regular sales reports, including performance data, stock levels, and feedback from accounts.

  • Analyze sales trends, identify opportunities for growth, and provide insights to improve sales performance in modern trade channels.

  • Monitor competitor activity within the modern trade sector and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Resolve any customer or retailer issues promptly, including complaints, returns, or disputes.

  • Ensure that modern trade outlets receive the highest level of customer service, maintaining a professional and positive relationship.

  • Monitor the quality of service and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Gather feedback from customers and channel partners to identify market trends, customer preferences, and new product opportunities.

  • Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activities, and consumer behavior within the modern trade sector.

  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of sales plans and campaigns.

  •  Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products to modern trade stores.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred and 0-3 years of experience in sales, specifically within the modern trade or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector.

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to manage key accounts effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and retail partners.

  • Solid understanding of modern trade sales dynamics and retail environments.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to generate actionable insights from sales data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

  • Goal-oriented, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple logistics activities simultaneously.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with other departments and external vendors.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic understanding of financial management and cost control in logistics.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
