Job Description
We are seeking a Logistics Supervisor for the opening of our base in Motta. As such, you will be essential in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across our base, working closely with the Logistician and Field Coordinator. You’ll manage everything from procurement and vehicle fleets to IT support and stock control, maintaining vital supply chains and supporting field activities.
Management of supplies
Update price lists and vendor databases
Control Solidarités International purchase procedures
Verify and process quote requests and IOFs
Draft the bid analysis tables
Compose and archive physical purchase folders
Implement purchases, monitoring adherence to validation regulations and procedures for validation of Logistic Manager
Negotiate prices, deadlines and methods of delivery
Ensure that relationships with suppliers are monitored
Management of vehicle fleet
Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and repair work on mission vehicles
Draw up the vehicle schedule and propose for validation of the logistic Manager and Field Coordinator.
Ensure that a complete breakdown kit is available on board all vehicles
Check that vehicle log books are in place and are used correctly
Assist in monitoring and consolidating fuel consumption and miles travelled for all vehicles
Prevent misappropriation of petrol and spare parts
Monitor the administrative documents for all vehicles
Assist the Logistic manager in the Fuel stock follow-up.
Management of equipment/telecommunications
Assist in installing and securing materials
Assist in monitoring and maintaining materials
Organize training sessions in the use of means of communication
Management and monitoring of IT equipment
Update antivirus software
Provide teams with adequate means for data backup
Ensure the maintenance and correct use of IT equipment
Prepare the laptops for new users
Provide IT support to base employees.
Stock Management
Supervise the maintenance and securing of warehouses
Ensure the well conditionned physical storage.
carrying out stock checks and physical inventories
Studies:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in procurement or any related field
Field based and humanitarian experience is appreciated
Languages:
A high level of fluency in Amharic is a mandatory requirement for this role
Other local languages is an asset
English proficiency is appreciated
Skills:
Logistics & Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of supply chain processes, procurement, and inventory management. Ability to negotiate with vendors, manage purchase orders, and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
Organizational: Highly organized with strong multitasking skills to handle multiple logistical functions (fleet, equipment, IT, stock). Ability to prioritize and plan effectively to support timely operations.
Technicity: Basic IT troubleshooting skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fuel management are a plus
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for details, especially in documentation, compliance, and inventory tracking.
Team Leadership: Ability to supervise, support, and train team members
