Job Description

CVDA has been re-registered and licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice, Charities and Societies Agency, on November 30, 2009 as an Ethiopian Residents charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies proclamation No. 621/2009 with registration No. 0588. As per 1113/2019 proclamation also re-registered on July 30, 2019. 

CVDA has permission to work at the national level however so far operates marginal parts of Benshangule Gumuz Region, Sidama region, South Ethiopia Region, Central Ethiopia region, South west Ethiopia region, Oromiya region, Afar region and Addis Ababa City administration.

It is member of Consortium of Reproductive Health Association (CORHA), Union of Ethiopian Women Charitable Association (UEWCA), Ethiopian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative/EEITI/, Ethiopia Civil Society Coalition for Scaling up Nutrition/ECSC-SUN/ and Afar Region Health Partner Forum.

 CVDA envisions a poverty-free Ethiopia where equity and equality are ensured.

Mission:

CVDA’s mission is to enhance socioeconomic development in health, education, agriculture, environment, livelihood, and WaSH, humanitarian responses, community-based peace-building, and good governance through holistic approaches and working with the community to contribute towards sustainable development and an improved standard of living in Ethiopia.

Overall goal: 

CVDA’s goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation through community-based approaches by implementing programs for development, good governance, and humanitarian responses in different regions of the country.

Duty Station: Gursum – refugee, Babile, Owbare,  Shebeley, Harawo, Harorays, Kebribayah woedas Fafan zone somali region

Duration of employment: one year with high possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund. 

Salary:  As per the scale of the organization 

Main duty and Responsibility

Woreda level SA Officer  will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:

  • She/He will directly manage activity of the project at woreda level in consultation with Regional team and other Project lead

  • She/He will provide support to VSLA groups and Enterprizes to be successful using her/his skill and expriences

  • Supervises kebele level ES community facilitators performance regularly and gives direction

  • Provide training and technical support to Community facilitators and DAs

  • Mobilize stakeholders and private sectors to identify business and employment opportunity for targeted young women

  • Facilitate smart young and adolescent women in program received soft skills using smaert steps cirruculum

  • Organize regular meeting and JSS with government stakeholders at woreda level and youth advisory group

  • Organize monthly meeting community facilitators  

  • Ensure program reports submitted to CVDA Regional office and head office

Job Requirements

Required qualification

  • At least two (2) years with master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with first degree in Administration, Marketing, Economics or other relevant disciplines.

  • Demonstrated experience in relevant areas such as general business management, private sector engagement, sales and marketing, supply chain strengthening, social entrepreneurship in pastoralist community setting.

  • Applicant need to have good English, Amharic and somali language skill and computer skill

  • Female applicants are highly encouraged
