Job title General Accountant 

Reports To: Finance Manager 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To manage directly all store/shop accountants and indirectly store keepers across our regions. 

• To ensure your teams performance management are completed twice a year.

• You are the custodian of stock records/balances, responsible for physical verification, regular reconciliations and general monitoring of stock movement; 

• Assist in developing and implementing inventory policies and   procedures; 

• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc inventory      levels and reports to all the relevant stakeholders; 

• Facilitate and participate in monthly and annual stock counts in the field; 

• Work closely with other main and supporting competencies and provide the necessary advice and support around your activities;

• Perform monthly stock reconciliations of physical counts against SALES TRANSFER OR ISSUES for all regions inventory and highlight variances to the Line Manager

• Reconcile stock deliveries with purchase orders and actual invoices. 

• Coordinate with main store team to implement and ensure a control      system to reduce inventory obsolescence;

• Support accurate and timely reporting through ensuring all stock data   is updated correctly; 

• Carry out spot checks on stock balances in the any stores against records capture; 

• Any other office duty as assigned by the line manager. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Essential Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in general accounting

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, inventory control, and financial reconciliation.
