Job Description
The Facility Manager leads the overall management of the organization’s physical infrastructure and workplace services. This role ensures operational reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance while also overseeing vendor management, safety, regulatory compliance, waste management, sustainability efforts, and space planning.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and manage maintenance schedules for all building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems).
Staff Supervision: Lead and coordinate maintenance and janitorial teams to ensure efficiency, accountability, and high service standards.
Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee service contracts and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, value, and contractual compliance.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage the facilities operating budget, including procurement, forecasting, and cost control.
Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, and internal policies; conduct audits, drills, and training sessions.
Waste Management: Design and implement comprehensive waste programs, including segregation, recycling, composting, and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Ensure regulatory compliance, vendor oversight, data tracking, and staff awareness of sustainable practices.
Sustainability Initiatives: Drive environmental efforts such as energy and water conservation, green procurement, and facility upgrades aligned with sustainability goals.
Space Planning & Facility Optimization: Assess and manage space utilization to support operational efficiency and organizational growth.
Risk & Security Oversight: Identify infrastructure-related risks and collaborate with relevant teams on physical security measures and mitigation plans.
Capital Improvement Projects: Plan and oversee renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and expansion projects to support long-term goals.
Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of assets and equipment, ensuring lifecycle tracking and timely maintenance or replacement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). And 4+ years of experience with in similar roles
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and safety compliance
Proven experience managing multi-functional facilities.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of compliance regulations and facility management best practices.
Demonstrated expertise in vendor negotiation and contract administration.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Key Competencies:
Technical Knowledge of Building Systems
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, generators, etc.
Maintenance and Operations Management
Scheduling preventive maintenance, managing repairs, equipment logs, vendor coordination.
Budgeting and Cost Control
Managing facility budgets, estimating costs, reducing utility and maintenance expenses.
Health, Safety, and Compliance Knowledge
Understanding of OSHA, local labor and safety codes, fire regulations, and emergency procedures.
Project Management
Managing construction, renovations, installations, or relocations within time and budget.
Leadership and Team Management
Supervising technicians, cleaners, security personnel, and contractors.
Vendor and Contract Management
Sourcing, negotiating, and managing service contracts (cleaning, security, waste management, etc.).
