Title: Commis Chef

Job Summary: MMCYTech is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Commis Chef to support our corporate office canteen team. As an essential part of the kitchen, the Commis Chef will assist in daily food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure high standards of hygiene and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a willingness to learn, and experience in basic kitchen operations. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chef and kitchen team in preparing daily meals, including Ethiopian and European dishes.

• Wash, peel, and cut ingredients according to kitchen needs.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times. 

• Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items. 

• Support kitchen inventory management and notify supervisors of low stock.

• Follow hygiene and food safety standards in all tasks.

• Help with plating and presentation to ensure consistency and visual appeal. 

• Participate in the setup and clean-up before and after service. 

• Work in rotational shifts as scheduled

Job Requirements

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred. 

• Basic understanding of food handling and kitchen safety practices.

• Enthusiastic, team-oriented, and eager to learn from senior chefs.

• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. 

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment. 

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including mornings and afternoons.

• A certificate or training in culinary arts is a plus, but not required
