About Geneva Global Ethiopia (GGE)
Geneva Global Ethiopia (GGE) is an international non-governmental organization registered under the Agency of Civil Society Organization with certificate No 1724. GGE has been working in the education sector since 2011 G.C particularly on accelerated education program and EiE. Currently GGE is seeking candidates for an M&E Officer role for an upcoming emergency response program for IDPs and host communities in Ethiopia with specific emergency-affected target woredas and schools of Oromia and Amhara regions.
The M&E Officer will drive the design, implementation, and oversight of robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems to ensure program effectiveness, accountability, and adaptive management. This role requires hands-on leadership in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on fostering evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement across projects.
1. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
Lead the development and execution of project-specific MEAL frameworks, annual MEAL plans, and indicator tracking tools.
Conduct routine field monitoring visits to supervise project implementation, assess progress against targets, and identify areas for corrective action.
Design and manage qualitative/quantitative data collection tools (e.g., surveys, focus groups) and ensure data quality through regular audits.
Coordinate baseline, midline, and endline evaluations, including methodology of design, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination of findings.
Analyze program data to generate insights for adaptive management, learning, and reporting.
2. Reporting and Documentation
Compile and analyze data for timely donor reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and internal progress updates.
Develop dynamic visual tools (5W matrices, dashboards) and maintain a centralized project database.
Document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned to showcase program impact.
Prepare analytical monitoring reports with actionable recommendations for the Programs Director and MEAL Manager.
3. Capacity Building and Technical Support
Train and mentor field staff and partners on MEAL systems, data collection protocols, and digital tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, Power BI).
Provide ongoing technical guidance to ensure adherence to MEAL standards and data integrity.
4. Accountability and Feedback Mechanisms
Establish and manage community-based feedback mechanisms (e.g., complaints hotlines) to ensure accountability to affected populations.
Address feedback and grievances promptly, ensuring transparency and sensitivity to community needs.
5. Collaboration and Coordination
Co-chair project kick-off, review, and closing meetings; document action points and monitor follow-up.
Participate in semi-annual learning reviews to share progress, challenges, and innovations.
Collaborate with government bodies, donors, and partners to align MEAL activities with stakeholder requirements.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in MEAL roles, preferably in NGO/humanitarian settings. Experience in Education in Emergencies (EiE) or WASH projects is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, Power BI), mobile data collection (Kob Toolbox), and database management.
Languages: Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken).
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
