About Deborah Foundation

Deborah Foundation, established in 2019, is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Through a focus on Health, Education, and Policy Advocacy, the Foundation promotes inclusion, empowerment, and access to quality services for children and their families.

The advisor will support the organization to:

  • Assess and refine the existing organizational structure and governance model.

  • Review and update key institutional documents (e.g.,organogram, manuals).

  • Recommend documentation systems that promote transparency, operational efficiency, and legal compliance.

  • Align internal systems with national regulations and international donor requirements.

  • Provide practical tools and templates to support institutional documentation and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an in-depth review of the current structure and documentation systems.

  • Provide a detailed assessment report with actionable recommendations.

  • Revise or develop core documents that define the governance and operational framework of the organization.

  • Design and recommend standardized documentation formats, filing systems, and archiving mechanisms.

  • Ensure that the organization’s systems meet local legal standards and align with best practices in nonprofit management.

  • Submit a final report including recommendations, completed templates, and a roadmap for continued system development.

Salary

  • Net salary- 20,000 ETB

Contract Duration: Two months

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in NGO organizational development, governance, and systems documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit regulatory frameworks and donor compliance standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical documentation tools and governance frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector in Ethiopia is a strong advantage.
